Equity Crowdfunding Campaigns

Warning statement about equity crowdfunding

Equity crowdfunding is risky.

Issuers using this facility include new or rapidly growing ventures. Investment in these types of business is very speculative and carries high risks.

You may lose your entire investment, and must be in a position to bear this risk without undue hardship.

New Zealand law normally requires people who offer financial products to give information to investors before they invest. This requires those offering financial products to have disclosed information that is important for investors to make an informed decision.

The usual rules do not apply to offers by issuers using this facility. As a result, you may not be given all the information usually required. You will also have fewer other legal protections for this investment.

Ask questions, read all information given carefully, and seek independent financial advice before committing yourself.

Fee Structure

PledgeMe.Equity — for those running a PledgeMe Equity Campaign

7.5% success fee (zero-rated) charged to campaign creator if the goal is met by deadline.

Pledgers — for those pledging to a PledgeMe Equity Campaign

The cost of using your credit card will be passed onto you if your card is charged, currently, this is 2.5% + 25c per transaction attempt.

How to upload a photo to your campaign

To upload an image find the picture button in our campaign builder (see below). We recommend using photos that are at least 688px by 390px.

How to upload video to your campaign

1. You must first upload your video to a platform such as Youtube or Vimeo.
2. Click the ‘Share’ button and copy the link to the URL (it will look something like this https://youtu.be/KaslgP4HVYo ).
3. Paste the copied URL into your PledgeMe Campaign page video section.
4. You’re done!

Where do I find confirmation of the shares I invested in?

Great question! PledgeMe cannot send you confirmation of the specific shares you own. We will only send confirmation that your investment has gone through. It is up to the company that has raised capital to then communicate with you about your specific share parcel.

How to Manage Shares

Great question! PledgeMe does not manage shares from organisations that crowdfund capital through our platform. You must contact them directly to manage your shares.
